Full Schedule - THATCamp Games 2013
  • Full Schedule

The Bootcamp Schedule is now confirmed. I will add rooms as they are determined.
A short schedule, with some restaurant information, follows the spreadsheet.

    Short Schedule
    Thursday, April 18th: Pre-conference Event
6pm-7pm: Join the Baker-Nord Center for a lecture by Dr. Anastasia Salter – Gaming for a Classroom (R)evolution: Transforming Learning through Play. Anastasia will look at the history of the uneasy partnership of games and education, from the controversy surrounding “edutainment” to the uneasy categories of “serious” games and alternate reality games, and imagine the possible future evolution of playful learning.
The event will be held in Clark Hall, Room 309, 11130 Bellflower Rd.

Friday, April 19th: THATCamp Games Bootcamps
8:30am Registration. Come by the registration desk in the front hall of the Kelvin Smith Library to sign in and receive your badge. Bootcamp sessions will be held downstairs in the same building. We’ll have coffee and muffins, but you should grab breakfast if you need something more substantial.
    9am-5:10pm: Bootcamps.
12pm-1pm Lunch. We’ll provide lunch (sandwiches, drinks, and sides); you provide the Dork Shorts.

    9am-5:15pm: Unconference sessions.
12pm-1pm Lunch. We’ll provide lunch (sandwiches, drinks, and sides); you provide the Dork Shorts.
6:30pm-9:00pm: You are all welcome to gather for dinner at The Jolly Scholar. We have space reserved.

Sunday, April 21nd: THATCamp Game Jam & Meetup Gameathon
9am-12pm: Game design jam and attendee-planned sessions.
10am-3pm Open Game Play with local Meetup Gaming groups
The Humanities and Technology Camp—or THATCamp—is a user-generated “unconference” in the digital humanities. Instead of being constructed around a specific theme or discipline, participants will be invited to contribute to the THATCamp Games website and share their ideas for potential THATCamp sessions. Once at the event, participants will collectively agree on the sessions where discussions of current issues in digital scholarship, pedagogy, and curation will take place.
All participants will convene on the morning of Saturday, April 20st to propose, negotiate, and select sessions. We will then upload the tentative schedule, and update it as conversations converge and new sessions are established.
